USPF: only university that holds the ISS Golden Memorabilia

World renowned Philippine pianist Dr. Ingrid Sala Santamaria celebrates her 50 years of music with a concert and an exhibit of the ISS Golden Memorabilia.
The legacies of friendship. Dr. Ingrid Sala
Santamaria and Mrs. Lourdes D. Jereza
pose for posterity.

The University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) is the only university here in Cebu chosen to hold the ISS Golden Memorabilia that covers notable pieces from Dr. Santamaria's journey with music from her official public performance in 1962 to 2012.

Dr. Santamaria's father, the late professor Salvador Sala was an USPian alumnus from the College of Law.  He finished his Bachelor of Laws in 1947 and his Master of Laws in 1970.

Prof. Sala, very good family friend with USPF’s founder Don Agustin M. Jereza, composed the alma mater hymn. The USPF Loyalty Song became his legacy. This very close relationship between the SPSFI and USPF that started with the great fathers became a fruitful legacy of partnership.

CAS acting dean Mr. Charles Roy Baguio
attends the ISS Golden Memorabilia exhibit.

Dr. Ingrid Sala Santamaria, SPSFI chairperson became an honorary chairperson of the USPF Bachelor of Arts in Music.  Effectively, students of AB Music are taught in-depth theories of music at USPF with practicum and hands-on practices at the Battig Piano School of SPSFI.

Furthermore, the scholarships on music given by and/or through the SPSFI and USPF discover and create opportunities for young musicians to harness their craft.

Inspiring graduates and educators of music today include three of SPSFI’s Peace Philharmonic Philippines (PPP) Quintet and USPian alumni Marc Hamlet Mercado, Reynaldo Abellana, and Christian Roy Abais.

The ISS Golden Memorabilia exhibit at USPF through Vice President for External Relations Mrs. Lourdes D. Jereza runs from September 8-14, 2012 at the Don Agustin Jereza Building in USPF Lahug campus.
